NIGHTMODE is a fictional brand I created for my packaging design class. NIGHTMODE is an alcoholic beverage that contains added electrolytes so that the consumer can stay hydrated while they drink. NIGHTMODE is designed for the late Gen Z and early millennial demographics (slightly male-leaning). It is meant to be a party drink that is low in sugar and minimizes hangovers for consumers that are more health conscious and more familiar with the negative effects of alcohol. I was tasked with designing a can for this brand as well as a 6-pack can carrier. The can was then printed at Craft Beverage Warehouse.
Problem: I was tasked with creating a beverage brand and designing a can and a 6-pack container. This can was to physically be printed through a professional can printing company and our box was to be printed, cut out with a Cricut, and glued together.
Solution: I decided to make a night-life themed alcoholic beverage that focuses on being a healthier alternative to other alcoholic beverages while simultaneously including added electrolytes to keep the consumer hydrated and energized. I wanted the identity mark to have empty letter-forms so that the mark could be dynamic—based on the flavor of the drink and the background that lies beneath it. I included the nutrition facts (although it is not legally necessary for alcoholic beverages) because the beverage is aimed towards a somewhat health-conscious audience. Because it is a night-life themed beverage, I wanted to make the flavor night-themed as well and I wanted the flavor to be complimented by night-life adjacent visuals with high contrast and saturation.
